Responding to UK Government cuts to aid at the high level pledging conference for Yemen, Anna McMorrin said:

“Cutting aid and sentencing millions of innocent Yemeni children and their families to starvation and death is a political choice by this Tory Government and they should be ashamed.

The scale of need in Yemen has never been so great. Instead of showing international leadership as a penholder on Yemen and helping to stave off the worst famine we’ve seen in decades, we’re turning our backs and abandoning our post.

This is an appalling move demonstrating ‘Global Britain’ has become yet another empty slogan.”
