Many constituents have contacted me about the Homes for Ukraine Scheme. It’s so heartening to see how many people in Cardiff North have put themselves forward to sponsor a family fleeing war in Ukraine and that Wales is a ‘super sponsor’ of Ukrainian refugees.

The UK Government’s scheme is undoubtedly flawed and has unfortunately taken far too long to support families in desperate need to leave Ukraine. However, if you’re a host family living in Wales sponsoring a person or family in Ukraine, here’s how to seek advice and obtain an update:

Dedicated helpline for arrivals and sponsors We have launched a dedicated helpline for people arriving in Wales from Ukraine and for people who are acting as sponsors to provide advice and guidance.
