Statement on the Agriculture Bill

This Tory government has let our farmers down.

The Tories overturning measures last night to enshrine UK food standards in law flies in the face of our animal welfare standards, of supporting our hard-working farmers who’ve kept food on our plates during this health crisis and of protecting them from being undercut by cheap imports.

I voted to protect British farmers, Labour will always back British farmers and it is disgraceful that the Tories won’t do the same.
